Perhaps even more importantly, it can give you more time to enjoy your personal life. And, by accomplishing these two objectives, it can also reduce your stress — leading to a longer, healthier, and happier life.

So, all that said, here are 5 ways to you can save time in the office.

However, studies have shown that dedicating a short period of time (roughly 15 minutes) to planning and prioritizing your work day can actually help you accomplish much more than you would otherwise.

Organize your work space. An organized work space can reduce stress and distractions (which is a topic we will address more in-depth later on.) Moreover, it can help you avoid the time-loss and frustration associated with losing important item such as a document or personal notes.

Delegate. Like all professionals, you have your strengths and your weaknesses. Understanding this will help you delegate your weaknesses to experts in those fields in order to allow you the freedom to focus on your strengths.

Minimize distractions. As we said before, decluttering can help you minimize distractions and stay more focused. Changing your music to something rhythmic and instrumental can also have the same effect. Whatever you can do to devote your attention more completely to the task at hand, do it!

Set deadlines. Taking a laissez faire approach to completing tasks is a good way to encourage procrastination. Instead, try setting deadlines for yourself — and rewarding yourself when you reach them!
